The C30 is a surprisingly attractive car. The exterior look is very pleasant, and the interior is very comfortable. Although the center console is not much different from the S40, however it is really surprising to find so much things equipped in such a small car. The rear seats are very comfortable, unfortunately it can only fit 2, but it is not a concern at all. Very roomy even for 2 adults. Haven't got the chance to test drive it yet, but I'm already loving it. :)

The S80 looks great, and definatly has the style to compete in its price range. the other models (S40,C30,C70) on the other hand do not fair well against competion from BMW,Mercedes, Lexus, etc. even close up the interior ( which is shared among these models) has the look and feel of a much less expensive car. while in the case of the S40,C30 this might be forgiven, in the C70 which is over $ 40k (US) it is unaccepatble. a resikin of the older C70 would have been preferable to this car.

The new C30 looks awesome and is priced to make a killing....until you look at the options list. I can't wait for the C30 to go on sale, but I think they blew it with the standard features on the C30 2.0 model. They add a body kit, some pretty awesome looking 18" wheels, a dynamic chassis, aluminum inlays, and the Dynaudio system, but they forgot to add practical things you would expect when you order the next expensive model; things like electronic climate control, a power driver seat, trip computer, and (this is the really stupid part because even a cheap Focus has...get ready for it...) cruise control, are options and not standard equipment. If you buy an S40 and you order the T5 instead of the 2.4i you get all of those things AND a bigger engine. Sure, what it does come with makes it look, handle, and sound better...but it's missing a few basic practicalities that add another $1000 right away, especially because you can bet you won't find a C30 2.0 without them in your local Volvo dealer's lot. If there's one thing that bothers me about Volvo, it's the standard interior equipment, and the boxes you have to check to get some of it. Is an auto-dimming mirror too much to ask for in a car that costs $30,000? Take a look at Acura and you'll see what I mean. Seriously....why is cruise control optional on ANY Volvo?
I love the styling and the fact that it rips to 60 in a little over 6 and a half seconds, but Volvo is killing me with their options list. And please offer AWD at some point, because as much fun as it is to smoke the front tires when the light turns green I'd rather have the better handling and security of AWD when I'm zipping around town.
