Not only does this car look nice, perform nice.. but it also does very well in rear end accidents. My friend and I were stopped at a checkpoint and was rear-ended by an 80,000 lb semi-truck. We were able to drive it 542 miles back home with no problem, though we did have to replace the tail lights and cut the exhaust off at the rear sub-frame *under the back seat*... but I mean, wow! Is that all? I love the car... "loved" maybe would be a better word, for the body damage was way to extensive to fix. Insurance only gave me 14k. I owed nearly 28, it was brand new! like.. had 2800 miles on it.

Air bags deployed, auto-killed the engine/fuel system... turned all the lights on and the nice and the emergency services called before I could even see straight.

Funny note: We did manage to get the automatic trunk release to work :D and it opened and closed fine, it was just alot smaller and partially in the back seat.

I'd give this car a 5 star rating not just on the crash test but also on fun, reliability and styling.

Though there is allot of plastic... Mercury somehow makes it look like leather LOL. just don't touch it... its not really that soft, but its nice to look at.

And as for the guy that said he got 21.5 to 22.0 mpg at 75... with an auto six speed *which I love* we were getting nearly 28mpg at 80mph, not sure why the difference, maybe elevation.

FOR ALL THOSE CRAZY MODDERS OUT THERE:

Yes, you can *with a miracle of sorts* fit a 5.4L V8... Eaton blower and all... under the hood of an 07 Milan, if you cut a hole large enough for the blower nose to poke out about 5 inches.... and a TKO-900 *5sp. manual transmission, yes.. that means it has cobra IRS in the rear end... and its fun! I'll have to post pics/vids of it :) for anyone who wants them, email me

Thanks for takin the time to read my review. I hope it interested at least one person!

I Just purchased a new 2007 Milan Premier.I had to order the 4 cly. engine. And I am glad I did with the price of gas rising everyday. It has all the power I need and handles very well.
Is there anyplace I can purchase a chrome grill for this automobile. This is my only complaint, such a beautiful car with a cheap looking spray painted silver grill ( I think its called hillbilly chrome). .What a shame the company did not want to spend the extra money and electro plate this item..

I never for one second understood why Ford decided to discontinue selling Mercury vehicles in Canada. It's not like they weren't selling them. I see just about as many Mercury cars as I do Ford cars on the road. Besides the Grand Marquis which is the only one still sold here, it would be nice to see the rest of them come up here again. I would gladly buy one. Ford's sales may increase somewhat in Canada if the Mercury brand was offered. PLEASE SELL THESE GREAT CARS IN CANADA AGAIN!

Love the new milan!!! as well as fusion!!! I've been a loyal Pontiac owner for years and am considering a new milan/fusion,unlike pontiac's g6, milan/fusion isnt available with a 6 cylinder engine and a manual transmission or even a automatic transmission with manual shiftgate, pontiacs g6 is available with both on the v6,I hope to see this become available in 2008 or A.S.A.P. this is a big weigh factor for me in choosing between milan/fusion,or remaining a true Pontiac customer!!!
