Mercury Milan

The 2007 Mercury Milan expresses a dynamic new chapter in modern Mercury vehicle design. Crisp, tapered lines accentuate the bold stance of this stylish five-passenger sedan. Mercury’s distinct satin-aluminum grille and sleek, curved headlamps and taillamps give the Milan the feeling of movement when it’s standing still.

Upscale styling comes naturally to Mercury Milan, which features an expressive interior crafted for absolute comfort. Settle into the available leather-trimmed seats and surround yourself with satin-aluminum trim. An available Wales mahogany wood-appearance package creates a comfortable, well-appointed interior that’s cool and sophisticated.

The 2.3L Duratec I-4 engine produces a fun-to-drive 160 horses and 156 lb.-ft. of torque. Additionally, the I-4 delivers up to 23 city/31 highway mpg fuel economy,* a much-appreciated benefit these days. An available Duratec V-6 delivers an exciting 221 horsepower and 205 lb.-ft. of torque, which makes for plenty of acceleration when passing at highway speeds.

As an owner of an awesome 1995 Mercury Mystique with V6, manual transmission, with 271,000 miles so far, I WISH and PLEAD with Mercury to come out with a slick shifting, 6 speed manual, paired to the V6 engine.
The Milan already looks great, and has great comfort and great reliability. Give the enthusiasts a version we can drive. Enthusiasts influence the common folk. I have influenced the purchase of many Ford/Mercury models over the years, in much part due to my Mystique. Let my future (hopefully) V6, 6 speed manual Milan do the same.

I own an '07 Milan Premier and it is a really nice car. It drives as well as the Passat that it replaced. The interior is comfortable and nicely designed and finished. I would definitely recommend this car.
Tim says (September 23, 2008 at 3:37 am):
Not only does this car look nice, perform nice.. but it also does very well in rear end accidents. My friend and I were stopped at a checkpoint and was rear-ended by an 80,000 lb semi-truck. We were able to drive it 542 miles back home with no problem, though we did have to replace the tail lights and cut the exhaust off at the rear sub-frame *under the back seat*... but I mean, wow! Is that all? I love the car... "loved" maybe would be a better word, for the body damage was way to extensive to fix. Insurance only gave me 14k. I owed nearly 28, it was brand new! like.. had 2800 miles on it.

Air bags deployed, auto-killed the engine/fuel system... turned all the lights on and the nice and the emergency services called before I could even see straight.

Funny note: We did manage to get the automatic trunk release to work :D and it opened and closed fine, it was just alot smaller and partially in the back seat.

I'd give this car a 5 star rating not just on the crash test but also on fun, reliability and styling.

Though there is allot of plastic... Mercury somehow makes it look like leather LOL. just don't touch it... its not really that soft, but its nice to look at.

And as for the guy that said he got 21.5 to 22.0 mpg at 75... with an auto six speed *which I love* we were getting nearly 28mpg at 80mph, not sure why the difference, maybe elevation.

FOR ALL THOSE CRAZY MODDERS OUT THERE:

Yes, you can *with a miracle of sorts* fit a 5.4L V8... Eaton blower and all... under the hood of an 07 Milan, if you cut a hole large enough for the blower nose to poke out about 5 inches.... and a TKO-900 *5sp. manual transmission, yes.. that means it has cobra IRS in the rear end... and its fun! I'll have to post pics/vids of it :) for anyone who wants them, email me

Thanks for takin the time to read my review. I hope it interested at least one person!

I really like the Mercury Milan and the Ford fusion, when is the Hybrid going to be available in these models?
p jSCHERRA says (August 1, 2007 at 12:20 pm):
6000 MILES 2007 MILAN PREMIER .
1 problem , door sensor died . not a big deal .
mileage 21.5 -22.0 w/ac on crusing 75 MPH ON INTERSTATES .
lOCAL 21 . MPH 221 HPH ENGINE awd
Needs less chrome , no strip on trunk lid especially, to many badges etc on rear . Needs 3.5 engine , doorpad , stability control .
Thats it . If they do that , they'll make some real profits . Gated transmission , a shame ,6 speed auto and no way using engine to brake vehichle .

Move a small v8 into lincoln an maintain handling , agility etc an you 'll be moving up to bmw audi class buyers . etc .
So close but Ford is cheap

I love the Milan but if you want to make some sales besides older people I think you should add REAL CHROME not that painted stuff and if it looks like chrome it should be chrome not cheaply made cover parts thats not cute
Dustyn says (June 3, 2007 at 1:30 am):
I really love the Milans styling. The headlights are very nice and make the car look as if its a pure luxury car. I would like to see some more features however including the hybrid.
johny says (May 28, 2007 at 6:22 pm):
Beautiful in the front, beautiful in the sides, but ugly in the rear.
Bob Schlund says (May 26, 2007 at 7:56 pm):
I Just purchased a new 2007 Milan Premier.I had to order the 4 cly. engine. And I am glad I did with the price of gas rising everyday. It has all the power I need and handles very well.
Is there anyplace I can purchase a chrome grill for this automobile. This is my only complaint, such a beautiful car with a cheap looking spray painted silver grill ( I think its called hillbilly chrome). .What a shame the company did not want to spend the extra money and electro plate this item..
Nick D. says (May 24, 2007 at 7:42 pm):
I like the new Milan and own one, but I think if Mercury really wants to attract young buyers they need cars like they made in the 60s and 70s. They lack cars that will have a lasting impact on the years to come. A convertible version of the Milan would bring in such a diverse crowd (young, multicultured buyers) that would put Mercury back at the top.
Bennie says (May 14, 2007 at 2:51 pm):
Now for the twin turbo AWD V6 (Cyclone) and a REASONABLE price.
COLIN says (April 4, 2007 at 7:18 pm):
I never for one second understood why Ford decided to discontinue selling Mercury vehicles in Canada. It's not like they weren't selling them. I see just about as many Mercury cars as I do Ford cars on the road. Besides the Grand Marquis which is the only one still sold here, it would be nice to see the rest of them come up here again. I would gladly buy one. Ford's sales may increase somewhat in Canada if the Mercury brand was offered. PLEASE SELL THESE GREAT CARS IN CANADA AGAIN!
William Schwierjohn says (March 11, 2007 at 10:09 pm):
Enjoy our 2006 I4 Mercury MIlan. Handling is great and the fuel savings is very noticeable when going from 17mpg with our 2003 Mercury Mountaineer to 27-28 mpg with the Milan which replaced the Mountaineer. The added features of the premier model makes it that much more enjoyable and luxurious. A refreshing change.
Tony says (February 24, 2007 at 9:48 pm):
Love the new milan!!! as well as fusion!!! I've been a loyal Pontiac owner for years and am considering a new milan/fusion,unlike pontiac's g6, milan/fusion isnt available with a 6 cylinder engine and a manual transmission or even a automatic transmission with manual shiftgate, pontiacs g6 is available with both on the v6,I hope to see this become available in 2008 or A.S.A.P. this is a big weigh factor for me in choosing between milan/fusion,or remaining a true Pontiac customer!!!
MA says (February 13, 2007 at 11:21 pm):
I have always loved Mercury designs, and I also wish you continued to sell them in Canada.
Blair Trotter says (February 6, 2007 at 11:20 am):
I have always been a Merc fan. I think that the new cars are very inivative and stylish. I just wish you didn't pull the brand from the Canadian market. I would love to be driving one.
Adam De Fouw says (January 24, 2007 at 8:59 pm):
When the car first came out, I saw a lot of ads about it. Now, there are next to none. BIG MISTAKE, FORD. There are dozens of people out there who will not buy a Ford branded car, but they will buy a Mercury. You need to take this to the bank. Revitalize Mercury and make me remember why I always purchased the Sable instead of the Taurus.
