The Ford Focus.

The 2008 Ford Focus has been completely redesigned, and a younger market is on Ford’s mind. The 2008 Ford Focus will be available in a new coupe body style or a 4-door sedan. The Focus is substantially upgraded and features Ford Sync™—Ford’s exclusive, fully integrated, voice-activated in-car communications and entertainment system for mobile phones and digital media players.

2008 focus has a new interior featuring a metallic finish on the instrument panel and console, contrasting stitching on the leather seats, Ice Blue lighting for the controls, plus available selectable ambient 7 color lighting of the footwells and cupholders.

The 2008 Focus is the first in a line of products that will demonstrate Ford’s stated commitment to small cars. Small car sales are up 12% in the US in the past two years, making up one third of new car sales. By the end of the decade, Ford has stated that they’ll release several new small cars, and the new Focus is the first.

focus wagon owner says (May 14, 2008 at 8:43 pm):
No more Focus wagon? What dimwitted bonehead knucklehead decided this? Fire him. Thanks alot Ford. You just proved you are a dinosaur and deserve to die.
Ford driver says (May 12, 2008 at 1:15 pm):
Just look at Honda. Ford is trying to copy the honda civic. They see how well honda took off with the civic hatchback, then the focus hatchback came out years later. The civic went to coupe and sedan a couple years ago, now ford is copying it again. However, Ford has worse quality and do not care about upgrades such as Honda. However with Honda you have way more options, even limited slip differential on the Si, even though ford has the parts they do not sell them preinstalled in their vehicles. I have a Focus and wish I had bought the Honda civic, so many more options and better build quality. and to top it off Ford puts the cheap plastic chorme parts on their vehicles. Since they pretty much use the same parts, I would go with the Mazda 3, disc brakes all around, better quality interior, and better build quality, better hubs 5 bolt vs. 4. About the same price also. The ford focus became popular as it was a easy tuner car, however Ford messed that up late in 2005, now again it changes in 2008. it will change again in 2-3 years. Too many changes, not any good ones. Often the aftermarket has better quality parts such as wheels, shocks, struts, etc. But with the frequent changes the aftermarket does not see much profit, so they are decreasing parts production. Ford is trying to force the customer to get only parts and service from them. That is why the Maggunson Moss warranty Act was established. Manufactures like toyota and nissan, have performnace parts that if a authorized dealer installs them they do not void the warranty, and the includes superchargers and turbos. Ford does not even offer parts warranty on their performance parts, and even say some are not lega for street use. Shocks with pefromance handling, not street legal, get real. does not do anything to make it illegal. They just do not have confidence in their products sometimes.

I was going to price a Focus Wagon, and found you discontinued it. I am so disappointed. I had a 2003 Focus Wagon SE, but it was totaled in an accident when another motorist ran a red light. I walked away without a scratch, thanks to the safety design of the Focus Wagon. I replaced it with a Toyota Sienna in 2005. Now I was planning to get another Ford Focus Wagon. It was the only Wagon sold, that was big enough for me to place 2 size 400 (large) pet crates side by side, and still have room for grooming table and equipment to go to dog shows. Yet I got 35 mpg! These cross overs just do not get it, and are priced out of what I want to spend. Plus all that I've checked, are too narrow in the cargo area due to the wheel wells. The Focus Wagon should always have been marketed under a different name than the Focus. It was clearly in a class of its own. What fools you have in marketing for eliminating it, and replacing it with an over priced cross over.

I too was also set to buy a Focus wagon last year. They were all sold out and I was told they would be discontinued. If I owned your stock I would be suing everyone from the Board on up. No wonder American businesses and our economy is depressed. Ford takes a best selling, growing market car OFF the market. You are so out of touch with Americans it's a joke.
SeekingFocusWagon says (May 1, 2008 at 2:31 pm):
What a SHAME Ford did two boneheaded things for 2008. ONE: ugly as sin redesign of the Focus for US customers. I much prefer the distinctive and stylish look of my 2001 Focus. TWO: Not having the Focus Wagon sold here anymore. It was going to be my next car in fact, now I'll probably end up with a Subaru. Thanks Ford, nice customer service.
dan says (May 1, 2008 at 1:25 pm):
no focus wagon? you're nuts!
Linda says (April 30, 2008 at 9:29 pm):
I just bought my Focus on 4/28/08 and I absolutely love it. When my old car crapped out, and I started looking for a reasonably priced vehicle with good fuel economy, I thought that I was going to be stuck with a Chevy Aveo, until I checked out this car. For all of you hatchback lovers out there...if you want to see a REALLY ugly car with no style, check out the Aveo hatchback. Now THAT'S ugly. I was thrilled to death to find that the Focus not only has some style, but it beats the Aveo on gas mileage as well. The Focus isn't designed to look like a sportscar or pretend to be something that it isn't. It's a good, solid, economy car, and the coupe is what I will be driving in lieu of the Mustang GT that I really covet, but can't afford the loan payments that I would have to make in order to gas it up.
S. Levey says (April 18, 2008 at 10:27 am):
Am currently in the market for a smaller SUV or wagon and was excited to see the new 2008 Focus Wagon until I learned it wasn't available in the U.S. I currently own a Ford and would have likely bought the Focus Wagon if available. Big mistake on Ford's part not to make the Eupopean models available in the U.S. especially in light of the economy and fuel prices going forward as it most likely would compete quite well.
Adrian says (April 7, 2008 at 1:02 pm):
As a American I find it pretty insulting that Ford thinks we deserve 2nd rate cars like this ugly turd while Europe gets the sexy new Focus.
Wagon Wanter says (April 5, 2008 at 9:40 pm):
I was extremely dissapointed the wagon was halted in the states. I'm even more dissapointed it is offered in Europe. FORD, get a clue. Are trying to bury the company along with the wagon. Bring it back to the states.
Rich says (March 16, 2008 at 5:26 pm):
I traded in a 05 elantra for the new 2008 focus three weeks ago and I'm still in love with it. I love the new look and 2.0 under the hood. My old ford had the ford 2.0 under the hood, I put over 100000 miles on that motor befor putting one nickle in it. 2.0 parts are everywhere and very cheep to buy. Good looks cheap parts, and better than stated gas milage works for me. The dealership was happy to sell me a elantra, but wouldn't give me anything trade in for a new elantra. Ford parts are everywhere cheap, try buying a new head for your korean car, you'll wished you bought a ford. I've driven a Ford lately, I liked it so much I bought it.
Robert Millerd says (March 1, 2008 at 8:25 am):
You missed it on the focus, bring the European focus to the states. Current focus is a grammas car. Search the web for the new european focus and you will all be surprised. Hard top cabriolet model is awesome, but unfortunately again Americans get the second class cars with no style....looks like volvo for me.
Coozy says (February 20, 2008 at 4:42 pm):
If you haven't driven one, please do so....It's quite remarkable for a inexpensive vehicle. http://autos.yahoo.com/ford_focus-reviews_user/
Blayne says (February 9, 2008 at 6:07 pm):
For a younger market? Maybe off to college girls car, other than that makes me think of lots of elderly ladies driving it. Where did the sporty hatch go? Did Ford use the next generation Focus design on the Volvo C30? Take a look and tell me it doesn't look like what the Focus should have morphed into...
Cubby says (February 7, 2008 at 1:21 pm):
Over all, I like the new body lines, except for that piece of shiney chrome at the front doors. I'm not a racoon and subsequently, not attracted to shiney objects. I think it cheapens the appearance of some decent body lines. Ford, what WERE you thinking?
Anonymous says (February 2, 2008 at 11:30 pm):
I really wish Ford would reconsider bringing back the Focus Wagon. I am extremely disappointed tht it is no longer available.
Chad Spooner says (January 28, 2008 at 9:56 pm):
I am sorry but I have to agree with most of the others on this site - the new Focus looks...like...I don't know - not a Focus. The Focus is an awesome car (in it's potential). I do feel bad for whoever controls what happens here in the States with the vehicle designs and whatnot but as everyone else says, you NEED to bring the Euro Focus builds to the States. I am highly jealous of our overseas brothers and sisters. My next car will be one of: Subaru Impreza WRX STi, MazdaSpeed 3, or Mitsubishi Lancer EVO unless you bring us something very comparable for a Focus build soon. Again - you should spend considerable time at both FocusFanatics.com and FocalJet.com. There is where you will find first hand truthful information about consumers and your cars.
Chris says (January 26, 2008 at 7:37 pm):
Im quite happy with ford, I think the new 2008 focus looks great. I thank the SYNC is great the look and the feel of the Ford Focus is right on target.
Chip says (January 14, 2008 at 10:26 am):
I have been told that Ford was turning around and profitability was just over the horizon and then I saw the new Focus and lost all faith. This is a market when one of the most beautiful cars competes (Honda Civic) and Ford counters with this ugly thing. The new Focus could be the most fuel efficient, powerful and best handling, but it won't sell if its ugly. YOU CAN'T SELL UGLY CARS!!!
greg says (January 9, 2008 at 9:39 pm):
Bring back the Focus Wagon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have an 01 Focus Wagon that I have thought about replacing but with no compact wagon in the Ford line up, I will need to keep driving my 01 which is at 124,000 miles or look for somewhere else for a compact wagon. The focus wagon is one of the few compacts that I can place by bicycle inside without having to disassemble anything. The Escape is too short behind the front seat to fit my bike and I would prefer not to get an Edge which cost $6-15K more than a Focus would.
