I think Mazda might have gone slightly over the top here. Concept cars should be things that can actually be USED, not just to look at. Have you thought about fuel consumption?! I mean, if you make it look all shiny and futuristic, then, of course people will enjoy looking at it. But who is going to buy it? Mazda- You guys make good cars, and i like them, but this is - it is truly - outrageous! Slow down and look at your designs. Just because you're a major company does not mean you can just go off and start building ugly rubbish!

Way to go Mazda! As a new member of the Mazda family (recently bought a 2009 Mazda6), all I can say is Mazda sure seems to have a bold view of the future. Sometimes it is a little too far out, but thinking outside the box only leads to even greater future cars. The Ryuga is fantastic in its vision of the future. I'd buy it today if it were available, but only if the rear end design is toned down a bit - it's a little too off the wall, but otherwise, what a vehicle ZOOM-ZOOM indeed !!
Mazda's current designs are cool.......keep it in that vein somewhat.......this thing is way to Sci-fi for normal Joe. Another $500 mill wasted I'm sure.

MAZDA NEEDS TO GO BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD ON THIS ONE! WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? THIS HAS "CHICK CAR" WRITTEN ALL OVER IT. REAL MEN WANT REAL CARS AND THIS ISN'T EVEN CLOSE. MAZDA NEEDS TO COME OUT WITH A NEW RX-7. THE RX-8 IS "OK" BUT THATS ABOUT IT. I WOULDN'T BUY ONE. MAZDA NEEDS TO DO IT RIGHT WITH AN AGRESSIVE STANCE, LOTS OF HORSEPOWER AND LOTS OF TORQUE. HORSEPOWER IS GREAT AND ALL BUT IT HAS TO COME IN THE RIGHT PACKAGE. BY THAT, I MEAN IT HAS TO LOOK FAST. THIS CAR JUST LOOKS A LIKE A GLAMOROUS NEON!

MAZDA RYUGA CONCEPT- The front end of the car looks really fine, the rest of it needs more work. Gull wing doors are really kind of outdated, they went along time ago with Mercedes 300 SL Coupe back in the late 50s. Not practical for getting in or out of a passenger vehicle. When looking at the side view of this vehicle it similar to the GM Volt, the rear wheels might as well be out in the open, the body appendage on the rear doesn't offer much protection at all. The Ryuga isn't alone, there are other concept vehicles that have this same situation.

Mazda concept cars are usually a little funky, but their products are always (except for Tribute; it does not fit into the current "Zoom Zoom" design lexicon) sporty, purposeful, and attractive. I currently drive a 2004 Mazda3 and I love it! The lines and style of the exterior make this car a standout in the compact class. Keep up the good work and keep the great designs coming!
Speaking of design triumphs, the redesigned Mazda2 is a knockout and would provide a sporty alternative to B segment cars such as the Aveo, Fit, Versa, Accent, Yaris, and Rio. I think it would be a great addition to the "Zoom Zoom" lineup of cars in the U.S., especially with our currently outrageous gas prices.
