Coffee in a car, yeah that's just what this country needs. We allready have enough trouble with idiots in cell phones and hands free. I have one better, how about a micro wave so they can cook in it too, or how about a stove top burner in case they want to make chili on their way to work. Hell add a blender, a food processor, and why not a bathroom while your at it. Ford Needs to keep things simple, most of us just want a car that is reliable. The onyl thing I have to say about this car is WHERE IS THE SHO?

My spouse and I purchased two Ford vehicles in 2007. We purchased a 2007 Ford Five Hundred AWD Limited, and a 2007 Ford Freestyle AWD Limited. Both were purchased under the Ford Certified Pre-Owned program. After owning them for almost a year, we are extremely pleased with both vehicles. The ride and engine are just fine. We both love the CVT transmission. Gas mileage is outstanding. The 500 provides 28 mpg on the highway, while the Freestyle provides 24 mpg on the highway. If the quality of the vehicle holds true for the next five years or 100,000 miles, we will certainly purchase Ford products again. Note to Ford's CEO Mr. Mullaly. Please continue to focus on quality. This is what people want. This is why I purchased these two vehicles. I read the Consumer Report on both vehicles and made a decision to support an American manufacturer. If you build it with quality and value, people will buy your vehicles. Good luck.

The lease is just about to end on our 2006 Ford 500. For a small V-6, the 3 liter CVT is surprisingly quick, but after 34000 miles, I'm still not used to the sound of the continuously variable transmission. Drove a 2008 Tarus, which I think is a poorly executed attempt to dress up the 500. The new 3.5 liter V-6 with 6 speed auto has lots of punch and is quieter with better gas mileage. Too bad the styling is so droll. The car is roomy and very comfortable. Don't like the two-tone interior though. Where are the 2009's? As it is, it looks like the 2009 Fusion with all the goodies will be my next lease. It handles more precisely and is comfortable, but I'll miss the room off the 500/Tarus.

The lease is just about to end on our 2006 Ford 500. For a small V-6, the 3 liter CVT is surprisingly quick, but after 34000 miles, I’m still not used to the sound of the continuously variable transmission. Don’t like the two-tone interior though. Where are the 2009’s? As it is, it looks like the 2009 Fusion with all the goodies will be my next lease. It handles more precisely and is comfortable, but I’ll miss the room off the 500/Tarus.

My first Tarus was a Hewlett Packard company car. Grew to love those cars. Very reliable, perfect biz-guy size, good economy trade-offs. One of 'em saved me in a freeway crash. SHO models were wonderful. Here's how wonderful -- I packaged out when Ms. Excuses came in. Negotiated a sweet deal for a mid level guy- some money, other useful goodies, and three years of grad school at 'a well known university.' Sounds nice? Forget it! The best part was a new 2002 Ford/Merc Sable (Tarus SW) 24V DOHC with all the goodies ordered "by mistake" for one of the new army of EVP's. Though I now live on a 47' sailboat and have not put on a suit since 2001, that car is the perfect mobile workhorse for a biz guy. TARUS IS A GREAT LINE!! Bring back the high-end motor and the Sable SW. I'll buy two!!
PS- I won my bet with the Fleet Manager... my car lasted longer than Ms. Excuses did, it actually delivers the goods, not one problem, and it's still running like a champ!

I like the Taurus.. If I was in the market for a large sedan, it would be my car of choice (probably a Sable) but it's bland. If Ford had something more exciting, sexier in the showroom it might have a chance, but right now this conservative, boxy, boring car just can't compete with they style and performance of a Maxima or Accord. Its a shame such a good product was wrapped in such a mediocre shell. Maybe the Aussie Falcon as an SHO could shake things up??

I like the new Taurus when its Black on Black, with some aftermarket wheels and tires, its a much more executive look. If it had the work solutions in it with the SYNC, it would be more appealing to be as a person that spends hours in my vehical a day, going from appointment to appointment, taking clients to lunch, and at the moment my 2003 Lincoln Aviator is costing me about $700.00 a month in fuel.
