Lincoln MKR Concept

The Lincoln MKR concept delivers elegant simplicity for modern premium buyers – as well as a new engine family. The four-door coupe features modern interpretations of Lincoln’s strongest design cues. Plus, the concept features environmentally friendly amenities and fuel-saving technology.

“This concept is the ultimate expression of elegant simplicity consistent with the world’s best Lincolns, and this new design language will lead us forward in the growing premium segment”, said Peter Horbury, executive director of Design, The Americas.

Seven key exterior cues define modern Lincoln design:
• Clean, uncluttered surfaces
• Powerful, dynamic beltline
• Chamfered surface running parallel to the beltline
• Distinctive Lincoln bow-wave, double-wing grille opening
• Thin, horizontal taillamps that run from one side to the other
• Powerful C-pillar smoothly transitioning into the cantilevered roof
• Powerful cantrail/roofrail

This is one of the most beautiful concepts I have ever seen. And if Lincoln builds it, as is, without watering down the aggressive design, it will certainly be one of the sexiest machines on the road. Absolutely stunning.
che says (October 3, 2008 at 10:36 pm):

Produce this monster and restore your standing in the market
John Elliott says (September 25, 2008 at 8:36 pm):
This car needs to be moved from concept to reality A.S.A.P. The lines of this vehicle are superior to anything that claims to be luxurious. This is the car to put Lincoln and Ford back on the front page of upper end vehicles. Ford has never had a luxury vehicle in my opinion that made owners stand out in a luxury class since the days of the Old 1976 Lincoln Mark iv's. That car got respect and this car commands respect just sitting there. It is definately in the same class as a Rolls Royces. This car is beautiful. Make It.
Wylie says (September 19, 2008 at 5:38 am):
Please make this car
DanielLopez says (September 13, 2008 at 7:39 pm):
i got two words: Beautiful car!
LARRY H says (September 5, 2008 at 3:28 pm):
A LINCOLN A COULD NEVER AFFORD.BUT MY SON BOUGHT A MKS AND HE SWARES ITS THE FINEST CAR HE HAS EVER OWNED AND HE HAS OWNED SEVERAL [ALL FORDS]I HAVE A 2007 CONV MUSTANG AND TRCH RED AND I REALLY SPICED THE LOOKS UP.WHEN I SAVED THE MONEY FOR MY LINCOLN THEY NO LONGER HAD THE SPARE TIRE HOLDER ON THE REAR END.TO ME THATS WHAT MADE A LINCOLN A LINCOLN.SURE WOULD BE VERY HARD TO PRY ME FROM THIS BEAUTIFUL MUSTANG BUT I MIGHT TRADE IF THE LINCOLN WOULD PUT THE TIRE THING BACK ON THE BACK OF A LINCOLN.LOVER OF ALL FORDS.LARRY
Jimmy says (September 11, 2008 at 2:36 pm):
That "rear tire thing" on the back is called a "Continental Kit". You can find them after market for almost any car, Ford or otherwise. Try looking on line. Good luck.
Nirmal says (August 6, 2008 at 10:48 pm):
The best car design ever, did say the best? that means the Ford management is never turn it in to a production. they like 3 bar grills put in to every vehicle. how stupid was that strategic vision to put three bar grill standard for every vehicle for a volume brand like Ford.
ultimately every ford vehicle is going o look monotones and boring and others will be the winner.
If anyone in the Ford is smart enough to understand what a winning product is, please push MKR in to production, I guarantee I will buy one and at-least 5 others whom I know. I am a fan a Ford. U dumb management plz don kill this brand.
by the by Ford is going to bring their beautiful European cars, Mondeo and Fiesta to US and when a they hit market u can see how talented Ford management is for making a winning product and design to horrible product. They will be hitting the road with THREE BAR CHROME GRILL.. omg I cant imagine one more Ford car with 3 bars...
can anyone ever attended marketing classes explain the reason behind the design cues that we seen in high end luxury models like Cadilac, BMW, Lincoln etc. u fools that is because people who are driving the luxury vehicle wants to let others identify from a distance tht they are driving a luxury vehicle, and they have a limited number of models compared to a volume brand so all the vehicle doesn't look monotonous .
Who in the world want to let others know tht they r driving a ford car (I want.. but any one else?.. may b not)..
Ford can increase there sales dramatically by letting there designer design beautiful cars without tht boring 3 bars.. this will be one of the easiest solution for Ford to get back on track..
Joe C Norcross says (August 2, 2008 at 12:15 am):
Holy Moses....Its about time...Hurry up!!
What an absolutely beautiful car!!! The MKS
as an introduction to the bigger spaceship is
quite a concept.. I know this stuff takes time
but we've waited long (almost too long) enough.

Now, the Taurus needs major design work.
A name change from 500 to Taurus is quite a ruse.
My 1991 SHO Taurus still runs like a bat but the
lack of spare parts and age moving on are slowly
killing it. So hurry up and get some daring do
life blood design going on the next generation
Taurus SHO (angry bull). Just remember what
the 80's Taurus did for Ford......I'm waiting.........
and I'll help...so let's go!!
C. C. Lindsey Jr. says (August 9, 2008 at 3:35 pm):
Yes the Lincoln is lookin right!! I do agree that the FORD TAURUS could use the contour design from the horns of a RAGING BULL and a much bigger body style [anything else would be uncivilized] {RAD} ONE {$PIREWORLD}
nick says (July 28, 2008 at 1:56 pm):
I think this car would be a great competitor for many Infiniti vehicles. Keep it clean, simple, and elegant, and I think this would be a hit.
Edwin says (July 23, 2008 at 3:57 pm):
This is a beautiful car, add it to the line-up just like it is.
Bill says (July 20, 2008 at 10:11 pm):
I want one now!! WOWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! I would like to be first on the list when this comes out. Please get going and start production on it, but please let the new vehicles be rear wheel drive? Don't take all the goodies away. I was going to buy a MKS until I saw it was front and all wheel drive. I have nothing but BAD LUCK with front wheel drive vehicles pulling to one side or the other, so No Thanks if it is front wheel drive? Otherwise its gorgeous and I can't wait....
Thankyou
Edwin says (July 23, 2008 at 3:58 pm):
My neighbor says he will buy this car if you build it, he has the magazine cover still on his coffee table.
Matt Kaye says (July 16, 2008 at 1:47 am):
This car would add an option to your line-up that's worthy of replacing the Mark. But you need to market to sportscar drivers who can appreciate its look
Suzanne says (July 6, 2008 at 11:08 am):
This car is oh so very sexy.
louis says (July 5, 2008 at 3:13 am):
what a beautiful car, hope the it can bring good driving pleasure and less oil consumption!

If so I will buy it when my ship comes home!
