I want one now!! WOWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! I would like to be first on the list when this comes out. Please get going and start production on it, but please let the new vehicles be rear wheel drive? Don't take all the goodies away. I was going to buy a MKS until I saw it was front and all wheel drive. I have nothing but BAD LUCK with front wheel drive vehicles pulling to one side or the other, so No Thanks if it is front wheel drive? Otherwise its gorgeous and I can't wait....
Thankyou

Please, please produce this vehicle. I saw it at the Chicago Auto Show in 2006 and have waiting to purchase one. I know the gas prices are high, but I don't drive more than 6,000 miles a year and I so want one of these. I have owned 4 Town Cars in my life and right now I am driving a Jaguar, whenever it isn't in the shop.

I have been a Lincoln fan for many years and have owned several of them my self, mostly town cars. The Lincoln name carries with it a clout that is unmatchable. This new concept raises the bar another level. The clout and prestige that the MKR carries, is like no other luxury car ever produced. The class, style, and elegance of the MKR, truly represents the epitome of money. I can’t wait for them to be mass produced. Five stars in my book any day.

I am a true Ford fan and I have to say that lately I have been very disappointed in the direction that to have been heading. GM as of late have owned the Ford call for innovation witk their own innovations as of late. I have to say that is a great step in the right direction. I would love to see more focus on gas mileage, styling, changing the visuals in the Ford, Mercury, and Lincoln brands like it was years ago, and diversity in the needs for a type of vehicles need. I keep up with Ford's progress and I love what I am seeing. I use to work in autoparts and I stressed to my customers that I don't sell as many parts for Ford as I do for GM and Chryler and I always recommend that women invest in Ford versus the competition. Thanks for hearing my voice and I look forward to seeing the great new things to come.......

The ideas that are transpired from this concept vehicle are the strong styles that Lincoln needs to continue to inspire new and former Lincoln owners.
From the grill to the roofline, to the tail, the car shows a flow that is continued on the inside. The MKR's style needs to be produced in several of the Lincoln vehicles like the Ford Flex twin, also.
You've got a seller for the high market Ford buyer espcially since Ford has sold Aston and Jaguar (as last reported in MotorTrend)

It is a shame that Ford Motor probably will not produce the car. If they did build it then it would be watered down. I purchased a brand new '07 Town Car in June and it is my 7th Lincoln and most likely my last. I hate to say that as I grew up on the suicide door Lincolns. My parents had a 1963 and 1968 (talk about style!). I will probably change to another brand of luxury car. I want to continue driving Lincolns but they do not have what I want. I love flying past Cadillacs, BMW's, Mercedes, and Lexuses as I blast down the interstate in my Town Car. That thing is a rocket ship and it still has some style left to it. It does not look like everyone else's luxury car. Ford please build Lincolns that will put every other luxury car to shame. How about the concept Mark 9 from several years ago or the Continental concept from several years ago. Those are the cars you should have built.
We want the car DARNNIT how many times do we have to say it. a couple of more suggestions mr ford i know you dont read these but its a good tip make a lincoln worth paying as much as you would for a benz or a caddy or a bmw. when lincoln first came out they didnt have ford engines in them, so put in an engine that the other fords dont get something quieter more powerful and reliable i dont want to go to a ford dealership and sit that fusion and mkz side by side again and say the only diff is the front and the rear bumpers come on now its lincoln you know the caddy eaters. Oh yeah what makes me able to speak on this i only work for mgm grand detroit valet and a well known fact about us is that we move the most cars in the usa so we get to put the cars to the test daily and that navi, WHERES the Power 300 hp for that beast whats the deal and the grill does too oh and so does that air ride suspension you have been using for the last couple of decades or switch companies who make them cause after like 7 or so years they fail but anyways i have to go

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: FORD WILL NOT BUILD THIS CAR!!! This is unfortunate, considering the fact that the MKR is an absolutely awesome car and exactly what Lincoln needs to put it back on the map as a believable premium luxury brand. As it stands, Lincoln is at the bottom of the luxury car food chain. Cadillac is the top dog in the US and Lincoln is falling further behind. The MKS is the poster child for the decline of the American luxury sedan. The MKZ has absolutely no reason to exist. And the MKX is just plain silly. Especially when you can go across the street to Cadillac and get premium luxury sedans and SUV's with powerful (up to 550hp) V-8 engines driving the REAR WHEELS as it should be, for roughly the same money. Liincoln needs the MKR to actually be able to compete with Cadillac. But Ford doesn't see it that way. All Ford is interested in is the bottom line. How many cars can Ford build based upon two platforms (Mazda6 and Volvo S80)? I own a 1996 Lincoln Mark VIII and I absolutely love it. It's REAR-WHEEL-DRIVE with a powerful DOHC V-8 engine. This is the kind of car Lincoln needs to be building. Not re-dressed Five-Hun..., er, Tauruses (Tauri?). I've always been a Lincoln man, but I'm seriously thinking about going to Cadillac because they are building the kinds of cars I want. Lincoln isn't.

You are absolutely, positively, right. Instead of the trying to bring a new cross-over to the market, Ford need to bring put some spyshot of this on the road as the new Royal-Lincoln-Towncar. Just give it the Falcon platform with a longer wheelbase, and state-of-the-art Interior. Make the Interior like no other, go out the way with it. Make it sharp, and crisp. Like kgm777 said give it a little more wood and lots of leather. make it with lots of crome; the real crome not that fake plastic covered stuff, but something when its cold out side and it makes your fingertips feel cool. Give it decent none cheap loking wheels not any like the rest of the brand. Thank You FO>MO>CO

That is exactly the type of car Ford has to build and the car design that it has to follow, in automotive terms this company has so much history and so many icons to relate to, that it is inconceivable to see Ford of north america loosing market share and to be in such precarious financial situation after having the best selling car (Taurus), the best selling vehicle (F-150), the best selling SUV (Explorer), the best selling small SUV (Escape), THe best selling small Pickup (Ranger), and so on .... and much of this success was due to bold engineering and design , setting standards for the rest to follow as well as inventing market niches.

I think that the design and engineering behind this new Lincoln Mkr concept is what Ford and speciffically Lincoln need to set themselves apart from fierce Japanese competition and create new American standards of luxury.

Build it just the way the concept is with the understated elegant style and refined silhouette, short front and rear overhangs and that distinctive split front grille that I think is brilliant, creating a new benchmark in American design.

And if your new ecoboost engines deliver what you are promising to, you will go back to setting benchmarks in engine technology as well. But I think that you have to bring them out as soon as possible, in order for Ford to become the leader it once was instead of playing catching up with the competition.

We are actually witnessing what Ford of Europe is doing with its brilliant Kinetic design across its vehicle line, and recovering market share and profitability with desirable products with bold design, state of the art technology premium quality, and superb road manners.

Bring small car hits to North america like the European Focus; Fiesta and the upcoming Verve World car to address to ever increasing gas prices, as well as diesel technology and speed up new cars like the Flex to cover seven seat demand after dismissing the freestar minivan.

thank you for your attention ed.

Lincoln needs this car, even more now with the release of the new Cadillac CTS. Linoln's name was always synonomus with luxery, power and style but really lost that in the 90's. This car is beautiful and could be the new Mark IX if they choose having some lines that resemble the original Mk III.
Now Lincoln has to replace the aged Town Car taxi with a world class luxery model based on the Interceptor, maybe something that is an updated early 60's or even something along the style of the striking 75-79 Town Cars.
If Lincoln is to survive they need the best that they can biuld. Caddy is doing it time for Lincoln to step up and regain its leed.

Your MK R is a very exciting design and I believe people who like something a bit exclsive in appearance would be drawn to the showroom. It is far superior to the MK S which looks alot like the side profile of a Buick Lucerne, Volkswagen and BMW, especially in the side rear quarter view. Even the Hyundai Genesis has that look. The MK R in contrast, is unique.

The MKR is extremely beautiful and would serve to bring Lincoln back to the type of vehicles it should be making. Sadly, the Lincoln name-plate has basically become a Ford trim level simply adding more luxury and technological interior appointments without any real substance. While the upcoming MKS is a decent effort, it does little to jump-start the enthusiast’s heart rate and is realistically only an S80 clone without the V8 option. I appreciate Lincoln’s efforts to keep the MKS below the $50,000 mark, but come on Lincoln, I thought the point was to lower the median age of your buyers. The MKR is frankly what the MKS should have been: turbo V6 or V8, independent rear suspension on a modified Mustang platform. The result would be an excellent car that would immediately be added to my potential purchase list. I know that Ford is in dire straits at the moment, but the key to its survival, and therefore Lincoln’s, is to get ahead, or at least abreast, of the competition. Almost every other car maker with which Lincoln considers itself a competitor, is shifting to rear-wheel drive or real-wheel biased all wheel drive with, in most cases, 300 horsepower (Check out the Hyundai Genesis for one). Lincoln is very dependent on each vehicle it designs and builds being a success and in my opinion, the edgy styling on the MKR, while certainly a gamble, is likely to at least open buyer’s eyes to what a Lincoln could be instead of the safe, staid styling of the MKS, which only reminds buyers of what a Lincoln currently is.

Very cool looking car. Looks a lot like the Interceptor.

Love the front grill, looks like a face thats about to eat you.

But that windsheild and roof? Whats going on here? All that glass is going to bake someone in the summer months or cause the AC to work overtime.

And what about safty in a roll over? Looks a little scary to me.

The rest of the car is really nice excpet the windshild/roof.

That's very fashionable design on windsheild/roof. It could add sliding curtain inside to address your concern. Reinforced side beam could add more safety from rollover crash. I love it! I'll buy it right away if price is right.

GREETINGS,

The MKR concept is a stunning looking vehicle, I hope that in the near future I'll be able to purchase it. The MKS is not a substitute nor is it as exciting looking as the forgien competition.

Come on you guys, in the olden days Lincoln design was aggessive and that caught the publics eye, get back to your heritage...

be great today,

If the MKR was at my local Lincoln Dealer today, I'd have one Tomorrow! THAT would make a Lincoln FLagship. But the MKS ??? Might as Well go for a Fully Loaded , Avalon, Maxima, Accord, Lacrosse, Impala, or this one is really scary .. a Kia "Amante" Seriously!! It has a feature list as long as the MKS and is $$$ less money with a 10 year warranty !!! Heck it even looks like the MKS or wait ... The MKS looks like a Saturn ? Accord , Malibu ?? Wha ?? Now I'm confused MK WHAT?? or was that Zepher KZ MKX R S ??? Who makes it ?? Some New Korean import ? Do They Still make Lincolns?
