Volvo has redefined what luxury means with their 2007 fleet. What do you think about the new line-up at the autoshow this year?

Well, I do have to agree with Steven as far as how well the Volvo product line has developed over the past few years. I also, however, want to see a new and redesigned XC70 and V70 in the near future. I am tired of seeing the same body style everywhere I go. Especially in Oregon, which is the land of Volvo and Subaru vehicles. Other than that, I am not sure how I feel about the XC60... It looks a little too much like an iPod to me on the inside. I would prefer to see something with clean lines and practicality thrown together in a healthy mix. Despite Volvo's desperation to become a vehicle that people under 30 would like to own, I think they may have over shot the modern look and lost focus on what has been true to the Volvo name since the beginning. Let's face it, this vehicle is still going to be used by the soccer mom, newly weds, gay men, and young professionals of this era. I know that I still want a certain class and sophistication in whatever vehicle I choose own. Let's leave the awkward modern look to the asian car companies.

I have to say, I'm 20 years old and currently work at a Volvo Dealership in North Carolina and I for one am glad to see that Volvo is finally releasing and developing cars that are not only "Volvo-safe" and comfortable, but also nice to look at as well. From the gorgeous all-new C70, the finally redesigned and beautiful S80, to this awesome new XC60 concept (which Volvo better stay true to the concept for the production vehicle!) it's nice to see Volvo step out of the "box wagons on wheels" design language to these groundbreaking designs that can still be instantly recognized as a Volvo. I for one can honestly say that I never use to consider Volvo's as being cool in any way, but with the direction Volvo has taken since the release of the most recent S40 and the upcoming C30 hatchback, they are definitely caused me to consider a Volvo as my next vehicle.
