The new XC79 stylying is a step in the wrong direction. The chrome trim at the bottom of the doors, the framed fog lights, the ridiculous lights in the lower corners of the tail, all cheapen the appearance of the vehicle. This looks like Ford influence, with a hint of Subaru, definitely not the look of clean Scandanavian design. What is the target market? Are American teenagers buying $40,000 station wagons now?

I've been buying and driving Volvo cars since 1990. The styling, ride and performance of these vehicles has steadily improved. I hope foreign marketing practices have not finally overtaken that trend.
