Why is it that Ford Europe can make great looking high performing cars with excellent interiors that exceeds fit and finish of most and not sell them in the USA? Instead we get the Ford Taurus!! Makes me want to move to the UK!

It’s interesting to see Ford spokespeople rationalizing why cars like the Mondeo won’t be made here or why we must wait several years before they arrive pr factories can be tooled to make them. One would think that the precarious financial position that Ford finds itself in would prompt a little reflective analysis and a determination to bring the best models to the US market immediately. Will the Ford showrooms for the Fiesta and the Mondeo still exist by the time that these superior European models reach this market?

Yes, Ford listen to your customers, bring all of your Europe line to America and scrap the garbage you try to sell us.

If Ford can not see its way clear to sell the Mondeo in the US then it deserves to go under. Clearly Ford USA can not see the forest through the trees. This car has the “it” factor which Ford desperately needs in the States. Wake up Ford management before its too late. This is a hot car and you can’t afford not to sell it in the USA.

I like the Mondeo. When I saw it in the latest James Bond film I nearly fell off my chair. “That’s a Ford?” Looked a little like the Infiniti G. Unfortunately, Ford can neither manufacture this car in the U.S. nor can it sell this car in the U.S. We have always expected big industry, like auto manufacturing, to work around the nonsense that government comes up with but that is no longer possible. And just recently the U.S. government passed a new law that’ll make things way worse. I guess you should’ve voted.

With the right power plant and a few tweaks the Mondeo could compete with the G. In your dreams.

in the mondio –Then Maybe I’ll buy a new ford –SHO performance V8 — The Mustangs are gas hogs and so will the interceptor be —bring the Mondio to the US or at least offer service training here for it –so we may import it ourselves –Volvos don’t have the level of the Oasis 2005 or the downplayed Mondio –WE WANT PERFORMANCE AND STYLE HERE IN THE US!!!

 I totally agree with these comments. I even emailed ford customer service saying they should bring these over. All they said is that there are no plans to build this car here. And a car in thier current line up should fill my needs. Frankly, except for the Edge and the Mustang, Ford vehicles are boring. That Mondeo is such a hot looking car I would love to purchase one of these. I currently own a ford contour svt that is in need of replacing. I have been a loyal ford buyer but, I’m also thinking of going elseware. They just don’t seen to have a car that I would want to buy that fits my needs. I don’t think they realize what a big hit that the Mondeo would make. Everyone I showed pictures of the car: 1. Think the car is hot and 2. Can’t believe its actually a Ford. FORD CONSIDER BRINGING THE MONDEO TO THE US.

It’s hard to fathom how badly FOrd and detroit seem to grasp the idea of globalization. I’ve been a loyal ford and mercury owner for about 15 years, and now am looking at Nissan or Honda. I tripped across this mondeo surfing the web and it’s absolutely ludicrous that Ford isn’t just putting these on a container ship and sending them across the pond. What’s the problem? You might actually sell a car that looks good and probably has technology in it that has been developed in the 21st century? Ridiculous. I thought Ford was a US company, but clearly all of the brains have been shipped overseas. Get a clue, folks, or continue to rack up those amazing billion dollar losses.  FORD PLEASE build the Mondeo here in the USA! My family was watching the James Bond movie in DVD and my wife saw the Mondeo with the blue oval and ask “is that a FORD”? I want one. My wife is not one to go GAA GAA over cars but the Mondeo spun her zizzz wheel.

 Just got back from the “old country” and got to look through the windows of the Mond. Let me say, WE WANT IT HERE in the states. But please don’t pull the same deal as with the focus, you remember moving production to mexico and stripping the EURO - out of it. Look at the Numbers, Volvo, BMW, etc. have selling Euro styling in the U.S. . Keep the cost in line without stripping the car and you would have a very hot seller on your hands.

 I had bought the James Bond movie on DVD and saw a Ford the likes of which I have never come across. I am in the market and would buy a Mondeo immediately. I began to do research and learned that I can’t even purchase one in the U.S. That is too bad! This is exactly the kind of car I was looking for… and I believe many Americans would feel the same way. Guess I’ll buy a V.W.

Please lets see the Ford Mondeo in the US, it is by far Fords best effort in this sector, should the US not be given a chance to own one?

 FORD, PLEASE LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE. I am going with the assumption that either not everyone has seen the James Bond movie, or that they have not seen April/May editions of most car magazines. This car is what Ford has been trying to do since it introduced the Taurus 20 YEARS AGO! (wasn’t a fan of it) Produce a family sedan that looks like something a young family of four would actually want to own and drive. Well, they have finally done it. This car looks like every mainstream family sedan on the market today- TL, Accord, Camry, etc., and in Ford’s case, with the huge hole in its pockets pouring out millions, that isn’t a bad thing. And if the driving experience, fuel effiicency, reliablity, and fit and finish are there, then what else could they possibly have to lose? It’s just to bad that the car is only available overseas. Way to go Ford.

 I concur! I saw the car in 007 Casino Royale and as soon as the movie was over, I tried to find out more about it and if they are going to sell it in the States. The Ford cars in the US generally dont turn to many heads. The Fusion and the Edge are a start, but I think this car would be a hit.

As an America I am insulted by the fact(yes it’s a fact) that Europe has better vehicles to choose from than we do here in the States. There’s no wonder why Ford has such meager sales domestically and is reporting horrific losses while Ford Europe had a net profit in 2006 of over $400 Million!

We need the Mondeo to be available in the States as well!! It’s the best vehicle I’ve seen to come down the pipeline from Ford.

I agree with the other bloggers, if the Mondeo comes to the United States I will by that instead of a Lexus(which I plan to buy next)! I just saw it in the 007 Casino Royale movie and it is the hottest thing that Ford’s come out with, period! It shows European & Aston Martin influence. Forget the Fusion; it leaves a lot to be desired. If the quality remains consistent with the image it will be even better! (It can be an imported vehicle if that’s what it takes for the quality to be there!)

I’m 25 and that’s what I respond to, not the Edge, not the Fusion and especially not the Ford Mustang. Leave that stuff for the Baby Boomers!

I would like to see the Mondeo come to the United States. I believe that it is the best looking vehicle that Ford has to offer at this point in time. It has the style of sophistication and the looks of muscle. What more could you want in a vehicle?
