I work at Performance Ford in Omaha, NE and I say if they dont make this Car they are for lack of a better word not to smart. It is the type of vehicle with style and performance that dodge and chrysler have been putting out that would open up a market for ford they havent tapped into to yeet which is younger people with money to spend. Not to mention it has enough of a classy look for a middle age business man could do easy. I would drive it and I'm a 23 year old Who still has asperations to play in the NFL. I would pick this car over any car in the Ford lineup right now and my favorite car is the Mustang. As a salesman and an aspiring pro-athlete I know this car would sell to people whether you make it affordable or not. Produce and watch them fly off the lot that's what i say!

Am I looking at the new Crown Vic/Town Car???
Gorgeous! Tone it down just a tad and at the end of production bring it to FULL CONCEPT variation.

Interesting how that dumb idea called "rear-wheel-drive" is actually desirable.

Please don't kill the RWD!!

First let me say that as a loyal Ford customer for many years I have been involved in the purchase of thousands of Crown Victorias over the years. I must say that I love the look of the new concept car, however the picture of the interior concerns me due to it having a center console. Will thier be a bucket seat option for the placement of equipment ?? I also want to reming Ford that anytime the interior dimensions of a vehicle are changed it impacts the purchasing agency because we then must purchase new consoles, cages, etc. Thanks for taking the time to review my comments.
I saw this car in a Robocop movie, they were trying to be ironic on the fact that americans like big bad cars. I also saw a similar design in a Simpsons cartoon.
If I'm not mistaken this is the kind of ideas that make you loose 12 billion.

Personally, and I emphasize personally, exterior styling wise I find this vehicle to be very bland and uninspiring. I tend to like more shape, facets and curves to create visual interest and a sculptured feel. None of that is here so for me it's very hard to get excited about this concept. Definitely others do differ and taste is always subjective.
Of course looks is only sheet metal deep and the other half of the experience is driving one. However, with gas prices heading to $4 plus as quickly as this does 0 - 60 it's not likely I'd drive one much less consider buying one. It looks like the type of gas guzzler whose time has past. I do believe in Ford as a forward thinking company and I'm sure they'll readily and easily adapt this car to whatever new technologies come up. Good luck with the new addition to the family.

Build the Interceptor, and I'll buy it... even with the four doors, it'll be more convenient for my family of four anyway. Plus, its a car, a real honest to goodness car, not a minivan, nor a cross-over, but something that actually looks like it would be fun to drive.

Make it a two dour, four seat, keep it rear wheel drive, call it a Thunderbird and I'll put down a deposit... and wait patiently for it.

I prefer rear wheel drive, and while the Mustang is a nice automobile, it just isn't practical for my needs. Once my kids are grown, perhaps I'll buy one, but that is at least 10 years from now. Produce the Interceptor, and I'll buy one when it is released.

I have always loved Fords, my grandfather sold them for over fifty years, and I basically grew up in his dealership, but I haven't seen anything terribly exciting come out of Dearborn in years. Please don't make me buy a G8 from Pontiac.

I have always loved Fords, my grandfather sold them for over fifty years, and I basically grew up in his dealership, but I haven’t seen anything terribly exciting come out of Dearborn in years. Please don’t make me buy a G8 from Pontiac.

Ford has a great line up of trucks, however what I don't get is the fact that they desperately need more attractive cars beyound the Fusion and don't do anything about it. I own 12 ford trucks and have little to no selection of cars to chose from at Ford. Toyota has three small good gas milage cars and two to compete against the Fusion. Ford needs to wake up. The Flex and interceptor are misconsieved. I can't see a reason why anyone would want these. I hate to see Ford fail as an American icon. I wish I could get an audience with the board of directors and help them see what they are doing. I think I could do a lot to turn them around.

I have seen Ford’s new concept car the Interceptor, and let me tell you, it’s a pretty sweet looking car. Takes me back to the movie Mad Max in which the police force drive Ford Falcons they dubbed “Interceptors”. Then I heard the predecessor to the new Interceptor was the Crown Victoria. The Crown Victoria has long been synonymous with law enforcement. Matter of fact, they have been the primary patrol car used by a majority of police departments across America. There is a company named Carbon Motors that are making vehicle specifically for police use. Each car with built in lights, sirens and other technologies are helping police to have a “one-stop” shopping place when looking for a police cruiser. Though, police still use the Crown Victoria’s. I was just thinking that the new Ford Interceptor should be made a better police specific vehicle. With the new technology Ford has introduced, such as Microsoft SYNC and other tech like new built-in laptops and pop-up GPS, the Interceptor would help the modern day Crown Victoria’s problem of cluttered interiors. Also with a new sleek look, built in lights and the new RUMBLER siren system by Federal Signal Corp., the Interceptor could be the next vehicle primarily used by police departments for the future to come.

Ford motor company. Where did it all go wrong? You need to concentrate on Ford Lincoln Mercury and forget these other brands Jag and Land rover. Get back to the basics and build a car that the American people can be proud to drive again. This car is the first sign I’ve seen that you might be headed in the right direction. The Interceptor has grate lines I love them. Let’s make the interior more family friendly suicide doors are the bomb My Thunderbird had them and I loved them. They spell elegance. This is the car that could bring back the grace and thunder that Thunderbird once held for Ford form years gone by. Please don’t change the lines of it build it like it is. Rear wheel drive would be nice.

Neat -smooth looking but what's the performance specs
is it a duratec or interference design like my 97 Taurus SHO V8 - parked awaiting a cam service and welding of all 4 cams -ford defect !!! Afterwords I look forward to embarrassing your new interceptor owners as mine is paid off and off warranty --that means there goes the factory top speed limiter encryption --and Bonneville once a year for free --whoooha --I'll never buy another ford since you continue to lie and cheat v8 sho owners knowing you designed flaws into the engine then sold them anyways and refuse to service these cars --in my case 27 dealers in person nationwide just about every major city state there is a "Ford Mandate not to service a tuarus v8 sho" How do you sleep at night when these were supposed to be the "BEST" cars you've ever produced --Fraudulent SALES and NON existant fraudulent service centers --seemingly most of these have little to none factory training or as they tend to state not in at least half a dozen yrs --I used to be a major ford fan --not anymore --I'll be giving my wife my SHO once I fix the defects and I'll buy a foreign car
as chevy and especially Chysler are no good either --
I've owned around 40 vehicles thus far and I have no faith left in the American Auto manufacts --now if you had only offered to help out SHO V8 owners like you should then you would have looked better than ever --instead you hide in your corporate offices and refuse to do the right thing --offer A mobile Cam service or something --I Like Lotus as well however I'm glad you no longer own them --? the yamaha 350 outbourd is that the same motor with different heads? PS --discontinuing our parts and options is also the wrong idea as Obsolete --what a bunch of Baloney --PS your interceptor looks like crud and it is NOT GREEN TECH
you could do much better if you tried --ps are the parts still made in 3rd world countries? I ask you to prove your not biased --print this as I've copied it on my end and for the record this is MY MEAGER OPINION as one of the little guys --perhaps when I finish my electrical and mech eng degrees --I work at becoming a auto manufacturer --I can already design and build better and more efficient vehicles --drop the SUV line --they are a waste of space --perfect the Taurus X AWD as it's greener and safer with a duratec --and please weld the cams on any other interference styled motors.
I realize ahead of time you will moderate me out however --pass this on to corporate ---and NONE OF THIS IS OFF TOPIC ==FORD IS THE TOPIC
It combines the grill of the superchief, style and body of the Mustang, and the size of the Crown Vic, and on top of that it's super fast, and would only cost as much as the 07 Crown Vic's and such.
Why have you guys at the blue oval not produced this car yet? Your'e always so worried about what everybody else is doing that you forget what the consumers want. This car would go a long way to putting Ford back on the map, but you have yet to produce it. This car is sleek, exciting, bold, and it looks really sharp. Please put this car out in the public eye, and keep it a 6-speed. I am so tired of automatics that I keep looking at other car manufacturers because they at least offer sticks(manuals) in alot of their line ups. You folks stopped!!?? I know I maybe in the minority on this issue, but don't I count? I have always been a Ford guy, but since you limit the amount of automobiles that have manuals, I have to go some where else. I DO NOT LIKE DOING THAT. I hope that this e-mail does not fall on deaf ears although I feel that it probably will. Please build this car and try to realize that at some point, we all have a voice. I dread the day that I will no longer buy a Ford, but if you continue to go down these roads where the consumer is on the back burner, I will have no choice. That's a sad day. Thank you for your time

BUILD THIS!! I currently own a 2006 Grand Marquis that I plan to make into a luxury muscle car (at some point, college budget). I plan on running it into the ground, but if Ford makes this, I would seriously consider trading my Merc in for this. Just make it a little less "concepty". Make the headlights and grill similar to the Fusion, maybe a little more squared-off to fit in with the 60's style, and make the interior more conservative, somewhat like my Grand Marquis. The taillights, though, keep them, they look sick.

Also, make a Mercury and Lincoln version. The Lincoln styling should be similar to the Continental concept from a few years ago. Why not use the Continental name, too? And it should be the replacement for the Town Car (if you must replace it), not the new MKS. The MKS is alright, but I wouldn't want one. The Mercury version should be more similar to the Ford than the Lincoln, as with the Grand Marquis.

The car should also be loaded with options; not standard equipment, but options. I feel with many cars today that they are loaded with things that I don't want and it just adds to the cost of the car. That's part of the reason I have a Grand Marquis, it's simple and inexpensive. It has all the things that I want and nothing I don't (except traction control). Also, the performance items shouldn't come as a package, but rather individual. If you want the 4.6L V8 (or a supercharged 5.4L) and not a V6, you can choose that. But, if you want the sportier look, then you have to check off another box, so if you pull up to the light next to an Intercepter, you'll have no idea whether it's a V6 or a supercharged 5.4L V8; The ultimate sleeper. Sort of like what I'm trying for with my Grand Marquis, so I can show those ricer Civic's whose boss; the old man's car.

With the Intercepter and the Continental version, Ford would take a nice piece of the market away from Chrysler with the Charger and 300C. Now I'm sure that it's a unibody construction and not the rough and tough body-on-frame like the venerable Panther platform, but given the 60's-esque styling and the performance to back it up, that can be overlooked.

Now, as long as we stay out of the Kyoto Treaty, the big V8 in a big car shouldn't be a problem. But if this does become a problem, then have it run on ethanol. And, Ford should get into selling ethanol like the car companies in the early 1900's were the ones with the first gas stations. It's a win-win, but it'd be an even bigger win with the Intercepter in production, so BUILD IT!!

Now give it some suicide doors like the Lincolns once had and this will sell like hotcakes! Make a small V8 model or the new V6 with turbos as an entry level car and then make a true Police Interceptor version with the supercharged 5.4 in the GT 500 Shelby Mustang. That would get some Fords back on the street when Corvette drivers see it pull up beside them at 150 mph and you are tapping your brakes so they can look at it!

Okay. I've said it before and I will say it again. FORD WILL NOT BUILD THIS CAR. Everybody just stop asking. It won't happen. If it does happen, it will be a watered down, FWD, 4-cylinder powered joke on wheels that shares nothing but the grille in common with the concept car. The Fusion is a perfect example of Ford's philosophy. Tease the fans with a super-cool REAR-WHEEL-DRIVE, V-10 powered concept car (the absolutely awesome 427)and disappoint the same drooling fans with a cheesy FWD production version. Ford just doesn't have the interests of its potential customers in mind. This is evedenced by the seriously sad state that Lincoln is in right now. Cadillac has some of the most awesome cars on the road today with the CTS, CTS-V (550 horsepower anyone?), STS, STS-V, SRX, and XLR and XLR-V. All are REAR-WHEEL-DRIVE and available with big, powerful V-8 engines. What has Lincoln got? The MKZ? Dressed up Fusion. The MKS? Dressed up Five-Hun..er...Taurus. The Aviator, dressed up...whatever that FWD box is. Town Car? Ancient underpowered dinosaur sitting on a 1979 Panther chassis that should have been retired 10 years ago. Navigator? Not bad. Just needs MORE POWER!!!!! Cadillac is at the top of the American Luxury car food chain and Lincoln has become the bottom feeder of the eco
