For the attendees at the NAIAS this week, battling the crowds to get a look at the Ford Supertrucks was a challenge. Steve Carpenter was busy inspecting the new F150. “I like the Superduty series” Carpenter said. “My Ford truck has 101,000 miles on it. There’s beautiful stuff here. I want to update!”

Sue Galeas wanted to get a closer look at the Ford F150 Harley Davidson Edition. She and her husband John are “Ford people” and were there to see both Mustangs and trucks. “I’m a truck person,” says Sue. “And I love the style of the Harley Davidson. It’s just….fancy!”

“You can’t beat Ford trucks,” says John. “ I’ve looked at the other ones and there’s just something about the Fords. It’s like a country man’s limo.”

Ken Vastine, Jr. of Hastings, MI has owned Fords his all his life and brought his daughter Allison to the Auto Show this year. “I like the drivetrain on Ford trucks. They’re built to take the abuse on the farm, running the plow. I need a work truck and Ford can hold up to that.”

Ford needs to bring back the Bronco but not half a$$ed its needs to be the toughest thing out there. it cant be all plastic like the way ford has been going with their SUV's. What American needs is a true Bronco something people can be proud to own and know wont let them down. I love my 89 and 91 bronco's and the 86 we used to have they are the toughest things ive ever seen. We need something like that in production full of American steel. My mom has an escape and even she doesnt really like it. it just feels odd. Not enough metal. If you cant destroy someone else if you get hit it aint a Ford.

First truck was a 1991 f-150 with 264000 miles on it...Always built FORD tough
Jon says (March 9, 2008 at 6:01 pm):
Im on my 5th ford truck, a 2005 Ford F-250 superduty and i can tell you it will be my last. The so called "minor" fuel injector recall on the gas engines just cost me $6,000 for a new engine. The injector on cylinder no. 2 was stuck open which caused the gas to flood the cylinder and wipe out all my bearings which caused the engine to lock up. It was then towed to Wayne Ford in Wayne, NJ where they then "fixed" the injector but the engine sounded like it had a loud knock in it. They wanted me to authorize to pull the engine and tear it down for about $2,000-$3,000 and if ford felt that it was caused by that injector, they would replace the engine. If not, i would pay for that plus replacing the engine out of my pocket. Why should their FAULTY ENGINEERING be MY problem? When ford has the final say, whos to say any different, right? They let me leave with the truck under my better judgement and when i get home there is a puddle of oil under my truck. I called the service manager and they said the "mechanic" that changed the injector had to change the oil due to the mixing of gas/oil from the injector and made a note on the slip that the oil plug was stripped, but put it back in the truck and never told me about it or gave me that slip. I called ford motor company 2 times and wasted about 3 hours talking to them about what im supposed to do with a $50,000 3 year old truck with a blown engine and their response was the same. I guess thats why chevy and dodge give you a 100,000 mile warranty and ford gives you 36,000 mile warranty. Ford should look at all their recalls and all the hundreds of thousands of vehicles and "loyal" owners that has to waste time and money by bringing in their vehicles for recalls to these backyard mechanics they have working at their dealerships that should be fixed by now and rethink their engineering staff. Ford motor company obviously does not care about a customer that paid $50,000 for this vehicle or care to address it to the dealership that "they hired to work on their vehicles". So, a new engine at only 80,000 miles old? Ive always been a ford guy, but built ford tough? Not even close!!!
jacob says (October 26, 2008 at 9:51 am):
you should've known that those model years had injector problems, but i agree ford should replace it for free and give a better warranty
SMCMILLIAN says (January 26, 2008 at 11:08 pm):
IS 170,000 miles too many miles for a 2000 Ford Expedition?
Reagan Durham says (January 14, 2008 at 11:54 am):

I love Fords. I bought my '06 F-150 KingRanch and love it. Lead the pack they will follow.....
I would like to see the TONGA Truck in to production, pls??????
Rick G says (December 11, 2007 at 2:05 pm):
Every Ford truck I have had has treated me well including my 05 F150 Lariat supercab.
Having said that, I really cannot understand why the superduty supercabs don't have the very convenient power rear side windows like the 150 super. Popout side windows are relics. Crazy!
Eric says (November 16, 2007 at 12:29 am):
I have owned 3 Ford trucks and my father 5. We have had nothing but good luck with them all. They are stout and built to last. You don't get to be the number one selling line of trucks by building junk. Sure the Chevy/GMC and Toyota offer a more powerful engine option, for now...but lets not forget about the rest of the truck. As I recall from a Ford advertisement I saw in a magazine, it read...FRAME FRAME FRAME, ours is the strongest. So true, I have drove/ridden in Chevy/GMC half tons, they have a nice squishy car like ride but I would be afraid to even throw a dead grass hopper in the back for fear of overloading it! As I have read in many articles the new F-150 just needs engine and transmission enhancements to take care of one of it's few weaknesses (compared to the competition). I am confident Ford will answer the competition as they want to maintain truck leadership. Ford you keep building them like you have and you have at least two Ford owners for life.
randy says (October 17, 2007 at 7:40 pm):
i own a f150 and love it , but if you guy would get a littal smarter and build smaller size diesel like a f150 and ford ranger your sales would shot threw the roof othere dealers can not keep the small size diesel . i would trade my truck for one right now
Don Winters says (October 7, 2007 at 12:36 pm):
I have enjoyed my F-250 Diesel pickups encluding my 2008 F-350 Crew Cab. Ford needs the F-150 crew Cab in a Diesel
for every day driving. I would buy Two of them tomorrow. If someone else comes out with one first I would considerson switching
brands. By the way I have purchased 5 diesel pickups since 1999. I curently own a 2004 Lincoln Navigator, 2007 Ford Expedition EL,
and a 2008 F-350 Crew Cab Diesel.
roman philbrick says (June 7, 2007 at 6:47 pm):
i own a 1992 ford bronco with 250,000 miles and it still runs like a champ.....never broke down or been rebuilt...it has its flaws but gets me where i need to be.
SVT Truck says (May 27, 2007 at 9:51 pm):
I own a Ford Lightning. Complicated machine but a winner! Today most folks don't know what a Lightning is until all they see is disappearing tail lights. But, by far the ones that get educated and just real jerks are drivers of tundra's which believed what they see on TV... Ford rules still!! I also have 70 F100 with 227,000 on the original engine and trans. Leaks some but would take it anywhere. Looks great also..
Cory says (May 22, 2007 at 8:20 pm):
I absolutely love Ford, i have a 95 Bronco with a 351W, over 200k at the moment with no rebuild in site. I also have a 2000 F-350 Super Duty Diesel, and an 05 F-150. Everyone thats whining about the F-150 not having enough power is losing there minds. The F-150 is a working mans truck that gets the job done. It tows, and hauls just as much as the competition. It may do it slower but i guarantee it will tow and haul whatever you have much longer than the competition. Please bring back the Bronco and could i also suggest an F-150 diesel before the other guys beat ya to it.
brock says (March 21, 2007 at 4:09 am):
I love Ford, but Ford needs to make a NATURALLY ASPIRATED v8 that can make at least 500hp. Put this in the shelby mustang instead of the current engine. If it needs to be supercharged to make 500hp, how are we going to ever beat the corvette?! MORE CUBIC INCHES!!!!
Jim says (March 19, 2007 at 10:36 am):
I have been waiting 5 years for an F150 diesel crew cab - it would be the perfect truck. I have 3 newer V6 F150s in my fleet. They are wonderful trucks, but I need a diesel for towing & fuel economy. It's time to pony-up, guys. My 2004 Chevy K2500 diesel is in it's last year of service... Build it and I'll buy it.
Mark Hutchens says (March 1, 2007 at 5:07 pm):
You know I have been a Ford truck man most of my life except for the few times I strayed, but I always came back, Now I drive a 1991 F150 and I will be keeping it until Ford does it right, saw a 2007 F250 the other day and was impressed, but it is still not quite there. I like the Superchief but it was not produced, instead just the same thing again and again, Bring out the Super Chief and put the fuel economy in it along with the ever popular and trusty Ford tuffness and power.
Larico says (February 23, 2007 at 4:20 pm):
God tells me that Ford need to step there game up and take a risk. But after 2007 Ford could become number #1 in vehicle sale especially the taurus, F-150, Fords People-mover/Cuv Crossover, Explorer and, focus will be a hit.
D.A.C says (February 23, 2007 at 11:49 am):
Ford really needs bigger motors.
