Because Volvo's 3.2 L inline 6 is probably better balanced and more refined than the 3.5, and it can be mounted transversly...a plus for safety and front/rear weight distribution. And Ford is looking at a twin-turbo version of the 3.5 with 415 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque (it's what they put in the Lincoln MKR concept). I think they have the ability to squeeze a lot more out of that 3.2 before they look at putting a turbo on the Yamaha V8.

I just hope they come up with new R models though, especially if they put some effort into making them sportier than the soon to be retired S60R and V70R without killing you with ride harshness...think steering response. Those two never really lived up to their potential, but I would have bought one if I had the money. 350 hp and AWD with a slick 6-speed in the next S60 would be nice. Please Volvo? I promise I'll buy one when I have the money.
